The Ocean Drover is one of the world’s largest livestock carriers with a length of 176.7m, deadweight tonnage of 13,462 DWT and registered capacity of 29,770 GRT, bearing Marshall Islands flag (IMO: 9232852), bound for Vietnam from Australia, officially arrived at Long An International Port (LAIP) in the afternoon of 6/6/2017.

In this trip to Long An International Port, the Ocean Drover unloaded more than 15,000 cattle to the Port. Although the port is partially operational and still under construction, from the beginning of 2017 until now, many big international carriers have arrived and handled cargos at Long An International Port. This proves that customers believe in the service quality process of LAIP and are looking for a long term cooperation with Long An International Port.

With the strategy of focusing on the Mekong Delta market in the first phase, Long An International Port aims at serving customers in need of transporation, storage of agricultural and aquatic products, fertilizers and livestock at the Port. At present, the ports in Ho Chi Minh City center have almost no sufficient space for these cargoes. In addition, Long An International Port also contributes to relieving traffic congestion through downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Particularly, the Ocean Drover releasing her cargo at the Port this time helped reduce hundreds of truck arrivals to Ho Chi Minh City.
