On December 27, at the Palace of Soviet -Vietnamese Friendship (Hanoi), 800 youth representatives and 200 distinguished guests were invited to the 7th Vietnam Youth Federation National Congress (VYFNC), term 2014 – 2017.
The 1,000 representatives are government leaders, outstanding federation members, youths from various fields and religions, the armed forces, young entrepreneurs, intellectuals, workers, farmers, artists from across the country and Vietnamese students studying overseas.
The congress voted for the presidium of twenty-two delegates to review the agenda and commence the congress. The slogan of the 7th VYFNC is “Vietnam Youth – unity, bravery, intelligence, strong mind and voluntary for a prosperous, democratic, equal and civilized country.”
In two and a half day, the congress reviewed the Federation’s implementation of resolutions during its 6th tenure from 2010 to 2014 and set out plans, orientations and tasks for the Federation and youth’s activities for the next five years.
On the morning of December 28, all 800 delegates visited and burned incense at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. On the second day, the congress elected the Central Committee and its President for the VYF term 7, 2014 – 2019.
During the 7th VYFNC, on December 28 in Hanoi, the forum entitled “Youth – Creative Startup” was held. The forum is to recommend, supplement and clarify the roles of the organization as a companion to encourage the youth to start up businesses and become wealthy.
At the forum, the Chairman of Dong Tam Group and the President of the 3rd Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association, Mr. Vo Quoc Thang, stated that creative startups are the chance and advantage of the youth because this is the age of creativity, ambitions, dreams and contribution. When youth has passed, creativity is a difficult thing to capture. Therefore, the organization needs to promote their roles to accompany and encourage youth to start up businesses for their own and the country’s prosperity.
On the same day, the commissioners voted for the presidium of the General Committee of twenty-two members. Besides, nine other individuals were also elected to be vice-presidents of the VYF term 7.
On this special occasion, we would like to congratulate Mr. Vo Quoc Loi – Assistant to the BOD of Dong Tam Joint Stock Company to be elected as a commissioner of the General Committee of the VYF term 7.
