Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is scheduled to pay an official visit to Vietnam next week, the Vietnamese foreign ministry announced on Friday.

The Singaporean head of government and his wife will be in Vietnam from March 21 to 24 under the invitation of Vietnamese premier Nguyen Xuan Phuc, according to the Vietnamese ministry.

The visiting leader is expected to stop by Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi during his trip.

PM Lee shall join talks with chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong on March 21, before attending the inauguration ceremony of the Maple Tree Business Center in District 7 the following day.

On the evening of March 22, the Singaporean premier will leave the southern metropolis for Hanoi, where he will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

A welcome ceremony will also be organized for the Singaporean leader on the same day, followed by a meeting between him and his Vietnamese counterpart.

The two heads of governments shall witness the signing of several important documents between Singapore and Vietnam following the talks.

PM Lee will also meet with Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang, Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, and chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan later the same day.

The Singaporean leader and his spouse are also invited to join President Quang and the Vietnamese First Lady for a banquet at the Presidential Palace.

He is also expected to partake in the release of the book “Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew” during his stay in the Vietnamese capital.
