Officially opened on 24 June 24 1977, but right from 27 May, the sport festival atmosphere already turned interesting and intriguing with the men’s soccer – the contest kick starting a series of sport festival activities this year. The men’s soccer tournament consisting of eight teams was started with the first leg matches in the afternoon of 27 May. After that, on 03 June of last weekend, the return leg officially took place. Final result after the two legs: – Coalition 1 Team thrashed Dotalia by 14 – 3; Binh Duong Area team handlily defeated Trade team by 8 – 3; Industrial Park team beat Son Dong Tam team by 9 -5; and Tan Tuc team narrowly edged Coalition 2 team by 6 – 5.
On the last afternoon of 10 June, the semi-final matches were very exciting and interesting. Considered as one of the brightest championship candidates this year, the Industrial Park team with the same strong and experienced individuals beat Coalition 1 team by 2 – 0 after 30 minutes of the official match to win the first ticket to the final round. The other semi-final match between Tan Tuc team and Binh Duong Area team was extremely thrilling and breathtaking when Tan Tuc team scored the opening goal and led in the first half. However, with the fighting resolve, the players of Binh Duong Area team came from behind with 02 goals in the second half to win by 2 – 1 and stepped into the final match with the opponent, the Industrial Park team. With the talent and fighting spirit of the players enthusiastically supported by crowded fans, the final of men’s soccer championship will take place on 24 June – the official festival date of Dong Tam’s 48th birthday, promising to bring us a very exciting and intense atmosphere between the players of the two teams. The third prize match is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of 17 June.
