On the afternoon of 21 July 2015, Dongtam Group donated 501 tons of cement to build a new rural area for residents who are living in 06 communes belonging to Meo Vac, Ha Giang Province.

In response to Decision No. 800/QD – TTG which was issued by the Prime Minister on 4th June 2010 that approved a national target to build new rural areas from 2010 to 2020, Ha Giang Province has implemented a new rural development with the positive support of ethnic minority residents. The province targets 10 communes to reach these targets as new rural areas by the end of  2015.

In order to hasten the progress of all sponsorship-required actions such as rural road construction, channels, environmental improvement and the installation of housing foundations, Dongtam Group joined Meo Vac’s People’s Committee to sponsor 06 communes such as Lũng Chinh, Sủng Trà, Tả Lủng, Giàng Chu Phìn, Cán Chu Phìn and Lũng Pù. 501 tons of cement together with gifts for a total value of 1 billion VND were handed directly to 694 households.

At the event, on behalf of Dongtam Group, Mr. Mai Xuan Duc – Dongtam Corporation’s Northern Region Director, said: “With a tradition of giving back to the community as depicted in a proverb, ‘When enjoying fruits, remember who planted the tree – When drinking water, remember who dug the well’”. We have a responsibility to join local authorities to build and develop the area. We are extremely contented to have the approval and support from the provincial Committee, People’s Committee and People’s Council in general, local authorities and Meo Vac Union in particular for allowing Dongtam Group to play a small part in contributing to the development of Meo Vac. On the trip to Meo Vac, Ha Giang, we deeply felt the beauty of the country’s landscape and the honesty, friendliness, and the hospitality from the youngsters and elders. Although living in a remote area with poor facilities and inadequate infrastructure, we could really observe and feel the warmth of human connections from the people of Meo Vac. We believe that in the very near future, the completion of intercommunal roads connecting rural areas will ease transportation for the residents; crops and farm animals will be protected by the reinforced channel system and all residential houses will be cemented, and living conditions will continue to rise.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong – Chairman of Meo Vac People’s Committee told the press, “Since this area is situated nearby the country border and plays an important role in the country’s political stability and national security, care for increasing ethnic people’s quality of life is necessary. At present, life is still hard with poor social and physical living conditions, high levels of poverty and lack of arable land and running water. In recent years, thanks to Party and State and corporate sponsored, roads, channels and houses are considerably improved. In celebration of receiving the donated cement from Dongtam Group, our local authorities will effectively manage distribution to ensure that all houses are fully solidified and avoid any losses.” Representative of Meo Vac’s People Committee also extend their gratitude to the staffs of Dongtam Group for their concerns and look forward to receive continuous support from the company.

As a leader in the production and sales of construction, interior and exterior design and decor materials, real estate investment and development, industrial zones and seaports, Dongtam Group actively joins community activities and social charities to help citizens overcome difficulties, showing the company’s care and social responsibility. Dongtam’s traditional corporate culture aims to assist people confronted with difficulties in life to settle into houses with stable lives.
