At the ceremony, the representative leader of Tay Tra District said: “Tay Tra District is a highland and extremely poor district of Quang Ngai Province mainly populated by hill tribes such as Kor ethnic group accounting for 82.49%, Kdong 9.2%, Hre 2.9%. Due to old slash-and-burn cultivation practice, complicated terrain and unfavorable weather conditions, the rate of poor households is 75.08%, especially the education level is so low and the spiritual life is under-developed. However, through cares for living, education propaganda and investment, local pupils have gradually built their awareness of learning and gained good achievements. Because the District’s resources are limited, we highly appreciate and thank My Lai Peace Foundation and Dong Tam sponsor very much for frequent care and support to the District in study promotion.”
For long, Dong Tam Group has always been supporting social and community activities, especially care for future generations of the country through scholarship for pupils. At the ceremony, Dong Tam Group’s representative said that although the scholarships and gifts given to children today were not much, they carried the love, sharing and sympathy of the leadership and 3,500 employees of Dong Tam Group in an effort to motivate and encourage pupil to go to school and overcome difficulties to study well and believe in a better future.
